Another example would be majorized or minorized chords. A D chord has to be minor to belong in the Key of C. It would be notated this way ii ( minor second chord) Majorize it, taking it out of the key would be notated like this II. You would do the opposite for the major in key to the minor out of key, thusly IV to iv.
