Best vocal setup?

Looking for advice on the best way to get the vocals set up, to help the singer in our band.

She has an absolutely beautiful voice acoustically, but when she sings through our old desk and out of the PA in a live situation - we can't seem to do it justice, no matter how we adjust the settings...

Tracey currently uses a Shure PG 57 mic atm, which we are gonna upgrade to an SM57, and hopefully that'll clarify things there...

The desk is old with no reverb or effects onboard and needs something to add a bit of sparkle... Ideas peeps?

@ Auntie, if you left click on the mp3 link it should open up a browser window with the song playing...Hmm, I like check links work before posting and this one opens fine for me, are you using an unusual web browser maybe?
Have you tried a right click, to save to your hard drive and play it from there?

@ Ben, Thanks fella - I'll check your site for dates to come and see you , I'll look forward to that

Do you need to pay to put covers on Myspace? Tracey has a U2 cover on her page with no reaction atm, is this gonna cause a problem do you think?

Glastonbury? We'd Love to! When we get get our own songs sorted - who knows, you gotta aim high!
Seriously though, I can't find a mention on page, but I wouldn't rule out Oli's sense of humour ( he made the Myspace page)

If you are using copyrighted material, then I guess that you need an agreement with the owner of that copyrighted material. But I don't really know what the actual position is. I've had one cover removed from YouTube but my version of "Rehab" is still there atm. It depends whether the owners of material can be bothered to look for violations.

We thought we would get things sorted out properly for our web site. But that is what we thought last December........and it isn't sorted yet. I guess if we'd kept our heads down we could have carried on for quite a while with no problems.

No, not Glastonbury, Gladstonebury - but I can't see the link any more because it had yesterday's date. I guess it was just a coincidence that matched a bit of humour with the correct date.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
