  This might help...

8) Here's a little something that you can do. Go to a local music store and see if you can find a "Washburn-HB30." Strum a little, even if you don't know how to play. This is a great guitar for a starter. I have one, and love it. I also own 8 other guitars, from a fender stratocastor to a beautiful and expensive "Parlor" acoustic/electric. I'm not a beginner any more but I bought the HB30 when I first started playing and would replace it in a heartbeat. The action (height of the strings off the fretboard) are very low, making this a very easy guitar to learn on. It's a hollowbody guitar and you can get just about any sound that you want out of it, especially with a few effects boxes (wah pedal, distortion...etc). If you decide that you like it, buy it from Woodwind/Brasswind or Music 123 over the internet. I suggest this because it will be about $80.00 or $90.00 cheaper than buying from a music store. I think they sell for about $400.00. You can go to their websites to find out. I also suggest that when you go to try this guitar out, find someone that knows how to play and let them tell you what they think. Well, there's my 2 cents worth, and happy playing to ya...Later
