Hello,

After months of nagging from my 11-year-old son, I just bought him his 1st guitar. I bought him the cheapest of cheap (in case it ends up being another toy) ¾ size acoustic guitar. Now please bear in mind I know more about under water slug juggling than guitars so my questions may seem stupid. When I opened the guitar it was strung with 3 steel strings and 3 nylon. The steel being the thinker ones. Is this normal? Will I still be able to get it in tune with different types of strings? Which type are the best?

I appreciate I’m not going to get much for the price I paid but a little knowledge will help.
