[The Snowboard Dude]

Hi there,
a bit about me:
I'm spanish, 15 and I love listening to music. One day I decided why not to give music a shot, and here I am trying to learn something new.
I was cruisin around the internet looking for easy songs for beginners and I came across this site...it looks awesome...
I figured out I wanted to start off with something that's not so bad, so after a few months of savin up I got myself a Washburn X10 with a black finish and a Randall MX20 amp. I guess it's fine for a newbie...the guitar sounds great to me.

I've started out about a week ago so I can only play easy stuff like
"brown girl" by van morrison, but I'm hungry for more...I'm startin to really like this stuff, man, I wanna go far!!
I still don't understand anything about those root notes of chords you guys talk about so it would be much aprecciated if someone explained it a little bit more.
