A song for Dad.

This was inspired by Kirks' beautiful 'Liquid amber'. I put fresh strings on my old 12 string and used the old ones on my poor battered Guild D25 to get the Nashville tuning, err... then I tuned it to DADGAD so...Nashville DADGAD then, am I the first?
Well it's a first for me, as is this multitracking and panning!!
This is a song I wanted to write for a long time now, it's for my Dad, I hope you like it.

Very nice Jomi.
Just a thought - I was thinking an instrumental verse, maybe between 2nd last and last verses would work nicely too.

Jomi! When you're rich and famous, will you remember the rest of us pedestrians back here?
Get out there and perform man, you were born to it.
Tell ya what, I'll be your manager, and I'll only take 50%.

Pamelody, thank you, I'd hoped that quite a few would relate to it, means I'm not alone.

Thank you Slickcat, I have no idea what the unicorn song is, maybe you could point me to it?

Glad you enjoyed it X4StringDrive, and extra pleased you found the lyrics special.

Skinnybloke, thank you too.
I really laughed when I read your post, I hope you have a big bank balance - you'll need it, even on 50% of what I make from music

John you sure know how to get into my head. Your song stirs up a lot of memories and emotions in me. I sure would like to thank my Dad too. As always another great song.

Jomi - I've liked all of your songs, but this is by far my favorite so far. Absolutely beautiful tone and playing on the guitar, and those lyrics are enough to bring a little mist to any eye.

Nobody is blowing smoke up your tailpipe when they say you should be performing, Jomi - you're a solid musician and a great storyteller, and that's a combination that's hard to beat. Your songs remind me of guys like James Taylor, Harry Chapin or Jim Croce.
