Anybody want to try?

A country Rag,
looking for all of you to try some sweet lead guitar over this.

Progression is:
/..C../..F..G7../
/..C../..F..G7../
/..C../..F..G7../
/..G7../..C../

Bridge:

/..D7../..G../..Em../..A7../

then repeats.

Sadly I fudged the ending a bit, and have no way of editing it.
it's one take.

Anyway, Hope someone tries it.
Jim

Jim - I'm gonna d/l it and try my hand at a bass line a little bit later on. No promises, since I just started playing bass - but I'll see what I can come up with.

Stratrat, cool, go for it, I was fooling with a bass line on guitar. The bridge is the tricky part, but It can be done, march up from C .
like this^means the note is higher than where you are,< means it's lower) B,^C,^C#,^D,^F#,^C,C,<Bb,^B,<G ..and so on.

OK, here's my first try at recording bass. I'm not sure how it sits in the mix - it sounds entirely different when I listen to it through headphones or my computer speakers. It's not bad in the headphones, but kinda boomy through the PC speakers (with a sub).

That adds some nice depth to the piece and it sounds great.

Strat rat, Yeah I feel it, Hey can you put that in on the one John did with the lead guitar, or Slickcats slide take?

That's what we need.

Stratrat, Your Bass sounds great.. Here is the bass line I was working out on Guitar, since I don't have a Bass. If you listen to it, it might give you some ideas to fill in if you are looking for some thing like that.
On guitar it sounds a little thin, but on a big fat bass like you got, yeah.
anyway

Sounds great, Jim! Nice mix - if you can slide Slickcat's slide take in there it'd be a cool addition too.

My bassline was pretty minimalist - I was trying to heed the advice I've read to avoid being the "lead guitarist on bass".

Stratrat, no Problem on the Bass you did, Those BIG half notes did the trick. I put my guitar bassline in there to give it that two step sound,(regardless of the time sig)

Great Job everyone. I like it. Even gets a Greatful Dead studio album feel. That's impressive from being on line and not together. You all could be on one porch together doing it live for all I know. The changes are welcomed and give me a feeling of actually going somewhere.

That was a cool lead! Kinda reminded me of this a little bit (starts at 1:00 and lasts til 1:40 and then another part at 3:45 to end) I love that stuff!
