When I close my eyes
Quite a departure for me, my first attempt at a love song, ....well more of a breaking up song really.
Hope you like it.

That was a very nice progression, Jomi. This is a very soothing tune. I definitely think you'd fair well performing in front of others. I can't imagine anyone not embracing your music.

Wow, just wow. All of you music is amazing, and don't get so nervous about performing. Everyone here has great things to say, and alot of them have musical training, i'm positive that anyone you play for will love it.

I think you should go for it and perform in public, you sound great! Just an idea.....try playing at nursing homes or in front of kids for a while they're very appreciative and encouraging audiences. Then when you get your nerve up.........WATCH OUT!! A star is born!!

Thank you all again for the lovely comments and suggestions for performing in public. I already have an international audience right here, Ireland, Scotland, USA, Canada, Australia, (sorry if I missed anyone) .... I know ... I'm making excuses.
Thanks again everyone.

Jomi, I hope you find opportunity to share your music with the people in your area. If you are able to get started at it I think you will find it one of the more satisfying things in life you can do. This forum's response to some of my early offerings was so encouraging that it brought me out of my shell and helped me finally get the nerve to do my music in public. Just at church and in old folks homes is all, but I get asked back. My stuff is not at all professional sounding kind of music but music from the heart is always appreciated. All the best to you as you get started.
Your "Hug me like you care" song has prompted me to write a song along the same lines. I hope you don't mind me imitating your music. I may post the song here if I can smooth the rough edges a bit.

Chammon,
Sorry for not responding sooner, I must've missed this post!
Thank you for for the good wishes, I'm very pleased that my song (Hug me like you care) has prompted you to write something along similar lines, that's a terrific compliment, I'm looking forward to hearing it.
Great that you managed to overcome the nerves, how did you go about it? Did you just take the plunge - I suppose that's the only way really.
thanks again,
John

Another great tune Jomi. Your songs sound authentic and from the heart and not at all manufactured or mechanical. Beautiful stuff, keep at it and we'll keep enjoying it from all parts of the globe.

Jomi,
I'd love to sit out at a pub with my wife on a clear cool night and listen to you play. Man - I wish I had your accent.
What I love about your singing and playing is that you are able to weave the two together and make it more than a song with words. You tell a story. Great job.

Thank you Todd, I'm very pleased that you like my songs, this site has been an amazing experience for me. Sharing music is something I wanted for years, and now I can and; with all the encouragement I get here maybe I'll bring myself to have go at facing my demons and perform in public - but not today!
Take care,
John

I hope you work up the courage to play publicly. I used to start every song publicly with and apology, noting that I'd probably mess up. Then I'd end with an apology to anyone that didn't like the song. Finally, someone told me that I gave ample reasons for noone to enjoy my songs even thought they thought that they were enjoyable. I think you sound great.
