Featured Recording of the Week
Since the re-vamped forum has been up and running, some of you may have noticed the new banner we have up the top of each page " Featured Recording of the Week" ...well it really is pretty self explanatory, but the idea is that each week we will be choosing one song submitted to our Recording Booth forum and featuring it for the week.
Last week we chose the hauntingly beautiful "Hug me like you care" by a relatively new member Jomi. If you haven't had the chance to have a listen, do yourself a favour and have a listen here.
For this weeks Featured Recording of the Week, we thought we would choose something totally different and decided on Rockerbob's "Wide Open"... check it out here if you haven't already. Don't be fooled by the title of the thread "Gentle Spring Guitar Melody" it's about as far away from that as you can get!
Enjoy... and thanks to everyone who continues to contribute to the Recording Booth Forum.
Clancy

This time we are giving the Featured Recording to a friend of ours who is fairly new to the forum. Kirk and I met Phil (pwgrahamster) when we first moved up to Brisbane. Phil hired Kirk to do some session work and then they did some gigs together as well.
Phil is one talented guy and is putting together a new album. He posted one of the new tracks "Down" that will be on that CD. If you haven't heard it, do yourself a favor and have a listen here - Down
He's also uploaded a couple of his other tunes in our Members Showcase section and you can listen to those here - http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/fo...d=48356&sort=d

I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks so I asked the mods what they thought should be the new Featured Recording and the consensus was that it should be Eddie Zielinski's (aka eddiez152) original composition "I Want To Be A Cowboy".
If you haven't heard it yet, be sure to check it out here - I Want To Be A Cowboy - Original
You can also have a listen to Eddie's son Todd's version of his Dad's tune here - I Wanna Be A Cowboy - Todd Zielinski - Take 2
A big thank you to Eddie for all his contributions to the site. It's great to hear him submitting originals. He has real talent in both songwriting and delivery.
Thanks Eddie.

I did not see this until now.
I feel like a night at the Oscars. Lots of good people and plenty of great tunes and lyrics here on GF&B by a lot of super players.
I am happy to be one of them.
The site has been my inspiration and got me this far.
Clancy my support says it all.
Thank you for listening to both versions. Hope it turns into something good someday.
