I can seriously relate to the tune. We live near one of the coal mining regions of Appalachia. We have suffered several loses of fine men to mining disasters in the past couple of years.

Of course, Appalachia is home to many children of Scot/Irish/English descent. They have been here since the first settlers. These great folks and families have molded the music of Appalachia.

Your song would be received well here and bring home many tears of remembrance to those families who have lost their fathers, husbands and sons to the crushing grip of black coal.

Thanks for this melody, John. Excellent.
