Tcagle. Start with open chords which you can get here and move along to barre chords. Thats what I did. You will be amazed what you can play with only 3 open chords. Its tricky at first to get to grips with holding the chords down but it all comes in time.
Good luck & Welcome

P.S. Any of the guys here will help you. Just find the right place to post a request and they will answer all your questions.

I'd sell my soul for a Left Handed BC Rich Warlock....

Leavitt's Modern Method and teacher too

I've done a little looking-research cuz there's so many books to choose from. Berklee school of Music in Boston ( berklee.edu ) also owns (?) Berklee Press publishes a myriad of top notch books they use in their programs to teach musicians. I was referred to Berklee's William Leavitt's A Modern Method for Guitar Book/DVD-ROM.. It's also sold on Amazon. It gets high marks. I'm using it and in my second month. My nephews teacher has him using it. I know that if I practice 1 to 3 hours a day in Levitt's 3 volumns I'll be able to play this here guitar in about 2 to 3 years..but hey..we all know how fast time goes............good luck!!!!

Not sure what the stuff you bought 'left out', but, not yet being the proud posessor of Plane Talk, can't comment much, except to say that posture (technique) counts for an awful lot, no matter what sort of machine you play...unfortunately, most of the beginner books around seem to sow the seeds of disfunctional habits or are so cursory as to leave the novice feeling a little lost.

Probably why there is still a market for face to face instructors!!!

  Baby Boomer

Hey all,

I've been with Gfbab for 24 hrs. I'm trying to learn how to play like slow hand...but at the same time this forum stuff is confusing me too. Threads, e-mails, someone responded to my comment...and I don't know how to respond correctly. I need a course on forum use and mis-use.

Hi, I am also new member looking for help with for fingerstyle lessons and practice or easy tabs to start me off . Started using finger style to make sure I am fingering the cords right, and now want to learn this way of playing.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
