Uhm, well, according to a couple of books I've been reading, yes and no.....

The "Super Strat" term came about by other companies that were making strat-like guitars (clones) but with stronger pups, and usually have a Floyd Rose Trem, or a Floyd Rose licensed trem. Maybe a switch or two to put the pups out of phase, some special things to differentiate it from the normal Strat.

Now, Does Fender make some modded out Strats with all kind of special items, oh yeh.
But Fender doesn't refer to them as Super Strats. That's their marketing thing.

But, this is just what a couple of guys that deem themselves experts on the subject, wrote in a couple of books that I got at the Half-price book store for less than half-price.

But what do I know!!!!!
