You can also use audacity, its free and very easy to use :
1. open the audio file using audacity
2. then export the file as mp3.
You're sure its mp3, cause as allthumbs has mentioned, mp3 files should be smallest of all.
No one can master every aspect of guitar playing, they just get better everyday.
