A bit of history behind this song. Joe Brown taught me how to play the mandolin after I heard him play this song. He first heard it played on a piano by the lady who wrote it. She was 80 years old at the time and her name was Mrs. Sylvia Oakman. Name sound familiar? She was the mother of Pete Oakman who wrote Joe's big hit A Picture Of You. He asked her if she would mind if he transposed it to mandolin and this was the result. A song called Souvenier D'Alvito. We, The Bruvvers helped helped to arrange it to what it is now.
