I'd agree to allthumbs, i had asked a similar question on the forum and he suggested me the same. I personally feel that searching for some basic finger-picking patterns / exercises (try google it) and practising them for a while is better , that is if you are very beginner and just starting out, because you gotta have atleast some control on your picking hand, before you go for a song. Its my personal feeling ( i got benefitted)
