Lets hear it for the noob's

Ok noob's

Any other noob's feel like pushing the boat out and see what we come up with? I am kind of thinking that a noob in this case would be under 18 months of playing or even someone playing longer but might lack a bit of confidence or if you feel better suited with likes of my crap playing over Cshude, RockerBob, Icjones and GT to name a few of the greats on here.

I think most of us noobs are into blues so again maybe lets try something bluesy in "E" as in easyer than the rest.

Again lets build this from the ground up so we would need for starters:

Drums
Bass line
Lead Guitar
Rhythm Guitar
Acoustic rhythm Guitar
Singers
Home recording guru
Horn Section (I can but try)
Sax (hmmmm I really am pushing now)
Cheerleaders (doesnt have to be noob's)
Motivators

This will be a mellow collab with a view of pushing ourselves a little bit further so let me know if you are up for it.

OK i guess you can use all of this some of it or none of it. Since this is an acoustic it may not fit, i was just gonna strum some chords but that didn't sound right. If someone could give me a good progression i could still try it, but for now this is all i came up with

Sounds good and the acoustic does fit, I would increase the volume of your guitar as it get lost at times. For a strum progression I was playing with A7, D7 and E7. Try it with two down strums per bar on beats 1 and 3 and possibly add a up strum just before you change chords, I just tried it and it sounds ok

Good stuff Krissovo.

One quick suggestion:

Maybe we should rename the files that we post back? It's quickly going to get confusing if we have 20 files all called 'Noobie Blues in A' that are actually all different.

Maybe add some identifying initials and a version number?

Hmm, i didn't notice my axe got drowned out at some points when I posted it. The BT i used was just in the left speaker even when i increased the volume i had a hard time hearing some parts. Well i can start over or try the strums you suggest. I will also identify mine as chris suggests

I whole heartedly agree with Chris C, its gunna get messy.

Perhaps a format like Member_lead_noobie blues in a, kinda thing...

I also think it would be good to at least keep the original tracks we all do.... for now upload a mixdown, but at the end upload all the seperate tracks that we're using that way whoever does the final mix can play with them all, and get all the levels right, in relation to each other.

Here's a rhythm guitar track I did over Kriss' bass and drum tracks....just a basic 12-bar. There are a few boo-boos, but before I cleaned it up I wanted to make sure this was even something like what we were looking for. Give it a listen and offer any advice/criticism.

That sounds good Stratrat..

I think we really need to play the bassline on a bass. It just sounds like a mess with 2 guitars already, by the time a accoustic rythym and lead is is also added, its gunnna be a nightmare, me thinks.

Didn't you say you had a bass, Matty? Kriss uploaded the basic drum track a few posts back, IIRC. d/l it and have a go at it, and maybe Kriss will give it a go when his bass amp is fixed too.

Did my rhythm track sound too dirty? Not dirty enough? Any feedback is welcome, I'll mess with it on the next take. I could make it twangier, leave it the same, or make it even dirtier.....what's everybody think?

I can only do a clean bass recording, through a DI, ive only got an Uber crappy bass amp.

I had a look at it doing that bass line, but i couldnt figure out what i reckons a bend near the end of the progression...

I think strats rythem guitar sounded good. Mine added in would be to much unless its gonna be like one guy plays and then the next guy plays(in other words a longer tune), plus i think my lead needs to be louder and faster something i don't know if i'm up to with my acoustic. I'm new to this colab thing so i'll see how this develops and then see if i can add something

Tomg - if we want to give it some variety, I could always play rhythm on alternating bars, leaving room for your acoustic in between....might be a kind of cool sound. I'm open to whatever everybody wants to do, it's just fun to do a collab like this!

Thats an idea, but i'm thinking one long rythem maybe bass, then each guy add their section to that one after another. Of course i don't know how this works the one who mixes it could decide. Matty said we could keep our tracks separte too and let the one who mixes use it as they want.....i don't know enough to be the idea guy though i shall wait and see
